“Le quatrième mur” is a work I painted directly inside the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde in Montreal. I wanted to capture what makes theater so powerful: the tension between what is performed and what is real, between illusion and reality.
The shades of red, ochre, and white unfold in an energetic movement that, for me, evokes the opening of the curtains, the play of lights, and the words coming to life on stage.
